Board members of a national association of professional women were experiencing dissatisfaction at not being able to get things done at their executive meetings. OSI, using the APLE diagnostic tool, confirmed that their board members communication habits contributed to problems such as – fragmented and incomplete discussions, energetic and competitive interruptions, talking over one another, and fragmented decision-making. Application of the APLE diagnostic tool helped them maximize their team competencies, minimized dissatisfaction of the meeting environment, and get more done in less time. APLE identifies non-verbal expectations that are most often unknown ways that we go about communicating with others. When these patterns of human behavior are identified, opposition is replaced with understanding. |
